Kyler's 6 Month Pictures

Kerri (Holleman Photography) did a great job with Kyler's 6 Month Pictures. They turned out great and I have NO idea which are my favorites. So if you want, leave me a comment with your top 3, that would help me narrow it down.
Grandparents and other people ordering I put the number BELOW the pictures it corresponds with. Email which prints you want, what size, and if you want them in color or black and white.
Wow I am really loving 6 months, Kys you are such a sweet boy!

Jesus Take the Wheel

Family is so important, hold them close...

This Carrie Underwood song is one of my favorites, "Jesus, take the wheel, take it from my hands, cause I can't do this on my own, I'm letting go so give me one more chance, to save me from this road I'm on Jesus, take the wheel...

So many times it is easy to get caught up in life thinking that we are in CONTROL, and we are not. We can do everything "right", be a good person, be faithful in the Word, and serve others, but as a believer I know that Jesus has full control of my life, and the precious gifts that he has given me. We are all His children and need to be ready to be called upon. For someone that likes to plan and organize and makes things fit, sometimes I forget to realize to live for the day. Because we are only promised the day, and Jesus will call on us when he is ready.

One of my dearest friends Joelle, and her wonderful family the VanDiest's, celebrated their mom's life yesterday. Kathy passed away from an 11 month battle with cancer. I have so many memories growing up right down the road from them. From all the birthday parties, sleep overs, camping in the back yard, raising goats, riding in the "6 pack", playing barbies and more barbies, and just running around the neighborhood together. Kathy was always such a bright warm smile when I would go there, and also showed all of us girls lots of love. I see many of those amazing qualities of Kathy in Joelle. Such a giving heart, and a good friend. Kathy will be missed by many and I know her 4 daughters and husband will keep her memories alive. Joelle and I now basically share a driveway where we live, and it has been such a blessing to be available to her and her family during this time. Chris and I are so lucky to have such great friends right next door that we can count on for anything. Love you Day family.

Time and time again we are challenged to except God's plan, even though we may never know why... God does not ask us to understand, but he does promise to be there for us, and help us through the journey. Live for today, tell the people you care about that you love them. Which road are you going to follow, are you going to trust Jesus, or continue to take detours?

Please keep the VanDiest family in your prayers.

6 Months--We Made It!

Kyler is now 6 months old, which was always a huge milestone when the doctors told us about being colic and his other issues. Since he was 3 weeks old I remember looking at him screaming, and just thinking...I don't think he will ever be 6 months, that sounds like forever away, and I didn't think I would survive at that point! :) "This too shall pass" if I had a dollar for every time someone said this to me, I could take another year off from teaching, seriously! If there isn't a statement as true as that, I don't know, but hearing that during which feels like some of the longest days of your life, it can be a little hard to smile and agree... Although the trial that God had given us with Kyler was so small compared to so many other things people go through, at the time it was very hard to give Kyler the constant attention, and take care of my other boys. So thankful that God helped see us through those hard weeks and months!

Kyler is still high maintenance, but finally stopped crying non stop in his car seat at 5 1/2 months. He is a MAMA's boy, more than I thought possible, because of the many hours we have spent together, he is not that fond with being left with anyone else. I have tried to get away for more than an hour or two, and even with Chris, he won't eat and just screams. So pretty much its me and the boys! He has still not figured out how to calm himself very easily, so getting him to bed sometimes can be a little time consuming, so the whole crying himself to sleep thing that I would have normally done with the other boys at this point, is not the best thing for Kyler yet.

At his 6 month appointment he did great, weighing in at 17 1/2 lbs (55%) and 27 1/2 inches (80%). Doctor calls him an aerobics baby because he just doesn't stop moving, and he is really strong. We mostly likely have another Crew child on our hands, oh man. :) He has been sitting unsupported since 5 months, which has been a huge help, he is way more happier sitting and playing with toys. He can also see his brothers running around more too, which is so exciting for him. Probably has helped his reflux too. This kid spits up more than I thought was possible, just when you think you are safe he will spit up 3 more times, good thing we are probably done having kids, because all of Kyler's clothes are being thrown away, he has ruined everything! We are slowly taking him off the Elecare formula, and so far so good!!! We will be feeding him more baby food, since he has shown no signs yet of any kind of reaction. He is waking up 1-2 times per night still, but has slept through the night about 3 times total. He still needs to be wrapped and swaddled to be put to sleep, but immediately comes out of it once we put him down. His doctor said this is completely normal.

We call him spastic or spazz, because he is so excitable. He just gets so stiff and just shakes. My mom said I use to do the same thing when I was little too. Some of my friends might agree (rubbing my hands together...) Crew calls him squawker because he makes these really loud shrieks and screams. His big mouth smile is so fun, I feel like after all the screaming he did, his perky and happy personality is such a blessing.

To say his brothers adore him is an understatement. Although having 3 of them so close in age has been hard, the love they show and have for each other is so cool. (Yes they fight all the time too :)! Sometimes I just sit there and stare at them all being so loud and wild (even Kyler) and just think wow, these are really my boys, what an exciting life I have, I am truly blessed! Although ear plugs would be nice... :) His brothers pass everything onto him though, he has had all of the colds they have had, and just got pink eye, which Crew and Brodes just got for the first time too. Today his FIRST TOOTH finally came through!!! He worked so hard on that, and the bottom one is finally out! Good job Kys!

This Weeks Best

We had a fun and busy week, Chris worked all week, 9 straight days to be exact, so the boys and I just tried to plan some things and have some friends over. I took a lot of pictures, a little camera happy at times, so enjoy....
Cole and Brodes Cole getting his turn to drive the gator in the garage since it was raining...I love Brody's smile, he was laughing so hardKyler has only fallen asleep in his car seat 2 times ever, and he was so tired the afternoon when we got home he feel asleep on the floor...this warranted a picture text to Chris at work because I was so shocked!! :) This kid is high maintenance!
Enjoying some morning sun outside with his brothers. I told the boys to bring him some toys and this is what they came up with.. :) Helping Dad clean out the garage We got to see the Turrell clan a couple times this week, so here is Ky Ky and Tay Tay, or you might just call them "Ty" like I did trying to get their attention. The picnic table is way more fun to eat at This is Pedro...He is apart of our family, we joke about him keeping the boys safe. This has been a great thing to have considering our driveways our on an alley and the boys are always running and racing everywhere. Cole has such a sweet smile Shooting hoops that is just what they LOVE to do Here's another picture for you Stace! :)Brody loves his Ky Kys
Crew has been having so much fun with Jack lately, they are so creative with their imaginative play :)

This week we also got some nice weather so we got to play over at Jack's house on their new play set, which has been a great addition to the neighborhood, thanks Day Family! We also made a trip to McDonald's (hopefully as the weather gets nicer this will turn into park trips) with their buddies Lane, Kendall, and their moms and Jack came too. It is so nice to get out with the boys and Kyler is adjusting more and more each day. I am so lucky to be home with these boys full time right now to try to plan fun things that we can do together. I just love my boys! *Thanks for working so hard so we can do these things Chris!!!

Night Rides

Our night time routine just doesn't include brushing teeth and story time, if the weather is nice we need to burn every last ounce of energy out of them. Around and around the block we go...
Plasma car, Brody and Crew love this thing, when going full speed they can ride faster than I can run... That doesn't sound very good, I do run fast, they just go faster :)
Nice look Kys, his head is on a constant swivel and his arms are shaking he loves being outside and watching his brothers race...
And if we were successful with our "night ride" this is what happens... Awwww.......peace, quiet, and sleepy boys. Good night!

Sweet Babes

Kyler and Ariana flirting by holding hands. Future friends and classmates, just like their mommies are...and I guess their daddies too! (We must live in Lynden!)
Kyler doesn't know what to think... Tory makes theses adorable headbands, and Ariana always is wearing them...
Big smiles

I look a lot like my daddy. Although my mommy is still trying to claim my mouth/smile :)
