Thanksgiving Surprise!

I think Brody was really hoping to get some good home cooked Thanksgiving dinner because he woke up with a bright white tooth starting to come up! 1st tooth (bottom right), after a lot of sucking, drooling, gagging from fingers in the mouth, it is well worth it!



Mom and her boys, I think Crew looks a lot like his mama in this picture. I rarely get to get my picture with them because I am the one behind the camera. So this Thanksgiving I had my mom take one, because I am SO THANKFUL for my two healthy boys. Love you!

Adventures with "Tort" and "Shame"

Part of the time I was gone Crew got to stay at Court and Shane baby's house. I was nervous that he might miss his mom, but he did so well, and they had so much fun! He loved their full size "locker room" shower!

They even went and visited Shane's parents house and got to play with the horses and other animals!

They also took him to this kids place with slides, balls, and jumping things. He had a blast!

Crew also got to go to a few of "Shames" basketball practices and had a blast playing in the gym and riding his car around. We will definitely have to got to a few Meridian Basketball games this year :)

6 months!

Time is flying and I can't believe Brody has hit the 6 month milestone (Nov.19). Pictures will be coming next week! He continues to be so happy and loving. He has been sitting on his own for the past 3+ weeks and is very quick with his hands to grab toys and objects near him. If you say "love" to him, he will bring his face into you pretending to give you love, it is the sweetest thing! He does not prefer tummy time, but goes crazy in his jump up, and LOVES the remote and magazines. He is not a very big eater, but then again I am comparing him to Crew. He has a 7 ounce bottle every 3 hours, and has either a #2 fruit or veggie for dinner. He is wearing 6-12 month, and 12-18 month clothing, and he fills out his size 3 diapers quite nicely :)

I wish I could say my 6 month old baby sleeps through the night, but that is not the case. He has had colds off and on all fall so it has been hard for me to stand to let him cry it out during the nights. So I am still up usually 2 times a night.

We went for his 6 month check up yesterday and he had lost 8 ounces since last week with being sick and not eating. He is in the 75% for height (271/4 inches) and 75% for weight (19 lbs). He did okay with his shots. He got put on antibiotics because his chest is not clearing, and today he has had a 101-102 temp, not fun!! My poor little guy!

Crew ended up coming with me the the doctor too, his ear was draining puss/wax from his tubes, and so that meant he has another ear infection. Which means we are back to the ENT for him because one of his tubes is out, and the other one might not be draining properly because he is still getting ear infections. So we have two sicky boys right now, just in time for Thanksgiving break!

State Vball--Lions take 3rd :)

Brody and I headed over to Kennewick this past weekend with the volleyball team. We had a lot of fun and Brody was a real trooper for the long drive and many stops :) Tk and Justine and I spent a lot of time together traveling, and in between games.

Crew stayed back home for this trip. Court and Shane had him over the weekend, pictures to come soon! :)

Naked baby!! Brody had a little accident at one of the games, he peed through his diaper and all of his clothes! I didn't pack extras... Oops!

Carolyn and Randi also came down to watch a few games. We had a sleepover in our hotel room, just like old times. Thanks for coming girls, it was so great to see you and get caught up!

The tournament always seemed to be running hours late in between games, so we had a lot of time to hang out, the girls loved helping with Brody.

Lynden going into the tournament was one of the favorites to win the championship. We ended up losing to Tumwater in the semi finals, and went on to take 3rd place.

Brody did so well for having to spend long days in the gym. We usually didn't get back to the hotel until really late every night, so he crashed in the car seat.

I love my boys!

Chris took a weekend and went hunting over in Walla Walla with some friends, so I was home with the boys! We had a lot of fun :) Both Nana and Papa, and Memi and Poppa got to help me out with the boys so I could still get a few things done, like a workout or two :) Having Chris working shift work I have gotten use to being home alone more with them, but it is not easy, and we sure did miss him!!

Chilling on the bed, Crew wasn't too interested in getting his clothes on, if it were up to him he would always just be in his diaper without any pants or a shirt.

Crew also got a new haircut this weekend, it is pretty short, but he has so many cowlicks, plus his hair is really thick and coarse (like mine, poor kid) so if we don't keep it shorter it sticks up everywhere.

Weekend chores! We attempted to clean out the toy closet this weekend, Brody helped out by playing inside one of the toy bins. That kept him pretty occupied! Love you Brodes :)

Lions Volleyball onto STATE!

We are getting ready to head over to Kennewick this weekend for the state volleyball tournament. Lynden had an undefeated season leading up to the district volleyball tournament (only had lost one game, not even a match) but lost in the championship match against Burlington, who we beat in 3 games earlier this season, bad night for us, but I think it is good for them to have lost now, and hopefully still have the confidence to do well at the state tournament.

I have been helping out more with vball the last two weeks, which has been great for me trying to get back into shape! I am traveling down with the team and driving my car to help carpool. It should be fun, we are stopping off at CWU to get a practice in too, which will be fun to be back!

I was originally planning on taking both my kids, it is still so hard for me to leave them more than a night, but after Courtney talked me into letting them take Crew for the weekend I couldn't resist. Good luck Court and Shane, I hope that this doesn't make second thoughts about having your own... Chris will working all weekend, so he is out. Being able to actually watch the games will be more fun. Brody is still coming with me though, but he does really well. Plus the girls in my car can help me with him on the way over :)

Volleyball Adds Three for 2009

Jessica Roberts (Lynden, Wash./Lynden HS/Oasis VBC)

Jessi, a 6-1 middle blocker/outside hitter, is enrolled at Oregon State, beginning classes winter term of the 2008-09 academic year. Her high school team is also currently in the run for a state title.

“Jessi flew under most universities’ recruiting radars, and we were pleased to scoop her up and have her join us in the winter of 2009,” Liskevych said. “She is a very physical athlete with outstanding strength, jumping ability and quickness. With little volleyball experience, she will have a lot of catching up to do. But once she acquires the necessary PAC-10 skills, Jessica could be the ‘who’s that girl?’ of our 2009 recruiting class.”

"It has been my goal ever since eighth grade to play in the Pac 10,” Roberts said. I chose OSU because when I came on my visit I felt like I was at home. The girls on the team were welcoming and really nice. And I could tell that the coaches here were the best and would help make me the best player I can be.”

So BIG!

Brody is so content and happy, and he loves to play! Crew was so different at this age. Brody will actually play and interact with toys, where Crew really wanted to be entertained by someone all the time. Brody only cries if he hungry or tired, but that little bugger is still getting up 2-3 times a night sometimes.

The perfect toy, magazines! He loves the feel and noise of the paper. He can sit totally on his own now, what a big boy :)

His tummy time is still not great, but Crew's wasn't either and it hasn't hurt him any. Crew has been so wonderful with Brody. He actually takes the time and shows Brody how all the toys work. This little boom box radio is one of Brody's favorites, he will even dance with Crew when it is playing if he is sitting up! Crew and I will say "Go Brodes, Go Brodes" and he gets so excited!

Crew has definitely been quite a handful at all the games this year, I think it is a workout for sure! He doesn't really like to listen and runs all over the bleachers and gym, and seems to get a little close to the court at times, like right here is trying to talk to Aunt Deuce.

This picture is of all 8 seniors and their parents. When I graduated I had 6 seniors in my class and I thought that was a lot!

Grandpa and Grandma rarely will miss a game, they are so supportive and use to drive all the way over to Ellensburg for my college games too! Brody got a little tired so he was all snugly with Grandma.

They ended up playing Squalicum (where I coached before) so Donja, Chris, and I had to get a picture taken. They ended up beating SQHS in 3 games, in fact Lynden remains undefeated and has only been taken to 4 games once in a match.

Hopefully they are ready for Districts and State, GO LIONS!

Team Dinner

It was my sister's turn to have team dinner, so I offered to have it at my house. My mom did the food, and I just hosted :) It was a lot of fun! It was senior night too, which made it kind of extra special since my sisters grade has 8 seniors in it!

There are 14 girls on the team right now, getting ready for District play this week/weekend. Right now they are ranked #1 in state.

Halloween Fun for the PARENTS :)

My cousin Kristin was there too, everyone kept telling us how much we look alike. I think it is mostly the smile, a lot us cousins have that DeJager smile. I think Crew has that same mouth/smile too.

Kassi's mom, Tami, and Taylor (the kitty) were the welcoming party. Tami had dry ice and was stirring her pot and cackling like a witch when people came to the door.
