Family Easter Time

Just like a lot of  other holidays there is a  lot hype built into what the true meaning of the celebration is.  With kids especially it is hard to relay this message to them because of all the distractions of eggs, candy, Easter bunny, presents, and just getting together and having fun with the families.  All of that stuff is fine, but it is nice to finally see Crew get the whole idea of it all, how big of a deal it is that Jesus died for us by being nailed to the cross, rose again, and saved us from our sins.  He can very well relate to being naughty, so he knows how lucky he really is! :)  To know that we have everlasting life is a gift that can never be topped!

We didn't really do anything for the boys for Easter this year, they are always plenty spoiled by the grandparents, but I did have fun getting them all matching outfits.  Just as the luck of it seems, Chris worked, so I did the best I could dragging the boys around to both families, it is exhausting!  But well worth it.  Chris is officially in turn around now, so I better get use to it!
Don't they almost seem angelic just for a second?
Kys face is priceless in this picture!
We went to Nana's and Papa's for lunch and an egg hunt, fun fun fun!
Kys was most concerned about the birds flying around, and even though my mom created a special area just for him, he saw an egg that looked like a soccer ball, and yelled ball, kicked it, ran after it and then threw it.  That about sums up his egg collecting!
Deuce loving helping her nephews
Comparing all of their loot!

Favorite chair in the house one on one with Nana
We went to Memi's for dinner, and had quite the wild evening, I guess all of that sugar was being put to some good use!
The constant entertainer, but Kader loves it

So precious
A miracle shot!
Can't forget how much fun we had dying eggs the day before, oh goodness, sometimes I set myself up for disaster!  Crew was great, Brody I guess his last month of being 2 he is deciding to take full advantage.  Loved the green die, wouldn't share, and made quite the mess (all very typical).  Good thing Becca was there to save the night with some patience and attention for them.  She also brought Tangled for us all to watch!
HAPPY EASTER!!!!!!

The Start of it All

We have the best neighborhood, I wonder if I searched for how many times I have said that in previous posts, it would be a lot.  But truly it is just perfect for our kids, we have 6 kids that will be going to Kindergarten with Crew next year.  Crazy!  Get ready for us Vossbeck!  Between the Day's behind us, the Marti's across the street, and many more fun families in between, and the arrival of the DeBoer's (Luke an Tory) moving in this weekend, it is almost like a high school reunion!  Not only that anytime I am out of something, Joelle always seems to have it or vice versa, it seems as we are always running back and forth to each others house with ingredients and this and that.

We had a great time at the Marti's with a little pre Easter egg hunt and had a fire while the kids ran around. Hailey and Crew and Dane and Brody are the same age, and they play so well together.  Bill's job has him at home for a month, and then he is gone for a month, and with Chris' work schedule being so nuts, Sarah and I are both home during the day and we end up together all the time with the kids.  Which works out just great!
Right before the hunt
A little crush? :)
Since we can't put Buzz down EVER, he came up with the strategy of the basket around his neck to collect eggs, very clever!
The buzz boys
They never run out of energy and are always up for a good chase and tackle time!
Baby Karter, such a sweet little guy, just always smiles, never makes a peep.  Since Kyler goes to bed so early, I just took the monitor across to the street, so convenient.
Soccer season, ready or not!
It was Hailey's birthday at the last practice so we celebrated with donuts, yummy!

This weather is really confusing between snow, hail, and lots of rain, to a few days of sun, I wonder if Spring will ever get here!

Vegas Vacation

Where do I even start?  Just the thought of even drinking a cup of coffee in the morning in peace without interruption was something I couldn't hardly wait for!  We didn't ever leave the kids for more than a night until 2 years ago, and that time I was pregnant with Kyler, and felt very guilty about leaving, and being pregnant, could not take full advantage of just relaxing and having a good time.  So when the Turrells, Duncan's, and us planned a trip to Las Vegas, I put all the mommy guilt behind me and decided it was okay for ME to have 4 days away.  And what a trip it was, we stayed at Katie's sisters house that is 4500 square feet in a gated community, each of us had our own bedroom and bathroom, huge pool with a hot tub running into it, you get the picture... :)
The guys all played baseball together at St. Martin's, but it was fun really getting to know Katie, the 3 of us girls had the guys shaking their heads at us all time, couldn't shut us up, we had an awesome time.  There will definitely be more get togethers in the future with this group!  Alright I could write paragraphs about this trip, but I will try to let the pictures talk, I took 179, but I won't include them all!
The worse part the plane...I am not scared, but I get so sick!  The take off and landing are awful!
Stacey and Josh, us girls got our first spray tans before the trip
I think this is a little too cute! :)
We both held off on having any of our favorite mini eggs until the trip, and even dug to the bottom of our luggage pile to break em out!
Night swim, Cody, Josh, and Chris

Me and Stace
Morning cards by the pool, everything was on our own time, there was no schedule and no demands, so wonderful!
Our pool boys!
Chairs in the pool, 90 degree sun, frozen lemon drops....

Our handsome men
We had fun getting dressed up, out of our mommy sweats and pony tails for once!
The group!
We had a fun night at the Mirage, our only night on the strip, and went out for dinner, and saw Terry Fator.
Loved spending some quality time together, 7 years :)
If you are ever in Vegas, this show is a must see, it will have you laughing and crying!
Lots of pool games, we had no problem entertaining ourselves :)
Oh model Pissy!
This picture cracks me up, the things I love most about it is Chris ends up in the pool, good work Stace!
Although I enjoyed every second of relaxing, spending quality time with Chris, and having a blast with the group that we went with, I was more than ready to see my 3 rug rats again.  It was priceless to see their faces for the first time when coming off the plane.

A special thanks to Memi, Cole, and Becca, and Nana, Papa, and Deuce for managing the kids while we were gone.  It was more than appreciated, and we love you guys so much!  Also thanks to Katie's sister, Sarah and Lyle for letting us stay at their house, it made the trip! (Lyle plays baseball for the Pittsburgh Pirates, so they were out of town)
