Brody's 3, Yippee!

BoBo's is 3, and he literally flipped a switch right on time to enter the "trying 3's" and exited the "terrible 2's".  I can so clearly remember, which is surprising these days, that Crew at this same age went through a difficult period as well when he turned three.  I was super confused because people always said terrible two's, so it gets easier after two right?  Nope, that is where the trying threes attack in full force... :)   Now I don't mean to sound so negative about our little sweet n sour lover child.  But it may be the fact that the tantrums are so fresh and steady that I haven't had a chance to see the sweet side of my little dude yet today.
There is not a certain thing that makes him extra excited about things, it may be because:  we turned left instead of right on our way around the block, or Crew cut in front of him, or Ky Ky took his buzz, or won't give back his bouncy ball, it might be because we said "no" to no more Mickey Mouse or Toy Story 1,2,3, or put on the wrong one...Sleeping in his bed is not something he thinks he needs to do, and if 11:00 is his new bed time, he has every ounce of energy to fight to make it be that!  So, parenting, yep, it definitely has it challenges in how to react and deal with these increasing tantrums.  Buzz has taken over our sweet Woody...)
So excited for his actual birthday morning, he specifically wanted green and blue frosted cupcakes, and he got it!
Happy Birthday Bobo's!  He did so AWESOME at his 3 year appointment, and can finally pronounce Dr. Bischoff's name.  They became fast friends again when she reassured him that he would be getting NO shots today!  What a saving grace!  He is still in the 50% for height and weight.  37 1/2 inches, and 35 pounds.  He gave up his binky and threw it in the garbage (good job buddy), because 3 year olds don't have binkies! Now only if he was as excited about potty training. He does pretty good with the potty part, it is just the other part that he is just too scared about or something.  Time is ticking and he needs to be trained before preschool in the Fall.  Come on Brodes you can do it!  Crew is constantly reminding him that 3 year olds don't go to the bathroom in their pants and Brody just gives this mean snarl look back at him.  Pretty funny!
Grandma Biv made a stop and all the boys were just so excited, and Brody got to open his first birthday present!
Brody truly is a smarty pants when it comes to knowing all of his colors, numbers 1-10, shapes, and almost 100% on letters.  The other day I had him and Crew compete on who got the letter right first from the flashcards, and Brody did get a few before Crew.
Physically Brody is very up to speed, ha, and has no problem wrestling with Crew and pushing around someone 20 pounds heavier than him.   For how lean Brody is, he sure has a FIGHT (relentless) in him like no one else I know.  I am finding out more now that when Brody gets mad, he means business!   Loves all sports, and truly never runs out of energy, he can go full speed all day, and he never really crashes.
Before heading out to his special day to the park, we stopped by Papa and Nana's for some more cool presents, like his very own Leapster Explorer (one less battle).   Besides playing learning games on the leapster, he likes to do puzzles, and color, oh and loves painting!
We headed for our first time to Boulevard Park in Bellingham that afternoon for a special outing for Brody and his cousin Kade's birthdays. It was a beautiful day, just perfect for throwing rocks in the water, kicking the soccer ball in the grass, and playing on the playground.
Me and my 3 and 5 year old!  Color coordinated, not planned on my part!
Happy first birthday Kader!!!  As Crew keeps saying you will be walking soon!  But for now you can keep winning everyone over with your silly faces you pull.  Started to get a wild side, and LOVES being around our boys, they bring out his squeals and energy!
Emma, Kader, and Becca all enjoying the beautiful day for our birthday boys!

Brody we love you will all of our hearts.  We are so happy that you are finally 3, you have been waiting for so long to turn 3 so you could go to school like Crew does.  You are such a snuggle boy, and like when we rub your head to put you to sleep.  Nothing makes you more happy that if you sneak into our bed, and snuggle up right next to us.  You are still our little love bug and the perfect middle child.  Thank you for making us so happy!
